On the scene at Washington Wedding Experience

Washington Wedding Experience (formerly known as Washington Bridal Showcase) is the largest wedding show in the DC area. Yesterday, we exhibited at the George Mason Patriot Center. This Sunday, 9/15, the Wedding Experience travels downtown to the DC Convention Center - and we'll be there as well.

Some of the people & places that make your perfect wedding day were in attendance yesterday and I thought I'd share a few photos and let you know a little about each wedding professional.

With a reputation as flawless as her work, Linda Rothgeb, owner of Cakes by Linda, has designed beautiful - and tasty! - wedding cakes for hundreds and hundreds of Washington area brides & grooms. With Gatsby and Art Deco all the rage,  Linda has captured the spirit of that theme in her designs. And isn't her lotus flower cake vibrant, yet elegant!

Speaking of vibrant, I love the designs from Exotica Florals & Gifts, located in the heart of Fairfax City. The sunflowers are great for a summer wedding and designer Wadia Zakhour loves her bling embellishments.

Macy's Bridal Salon by Demetrios was also on hand yesterday. In additional to beautiful wedding gowns, the salon carries a wonderful selection of bridesmaids creations, mother of the occasion attire, and adorable flower girl creations. Demetrios, located in the Macy's at Tysons Galleria, has an awesome lineup of trunk show sales throughout the fall. For date & details, click on our events page and select Bridal Shop News.

Of course, many venues were represented at the show - and not just our local lineup. If you're in the mood for a destination wedding, but don't want to get on a plane, consider a wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains at historic Sundara. Patty Trostel, owner, and her wedding specialist Amy were on hand to chat with brides & grooms about their beautiful Southwest Virginia destination wedding location.

And what's a bridal show without door prizes? Yesterday, we gave away dinner for two at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse to two lucky couples. Here's one of our couples - Kimberly & Tony. Enjoy dinner on Brides & Weddings!
