Si and Chris’s Wedding Melds Traditions

Si and Chris’s wedding highlighted traditions from both American and Chinese culture. Si’s entire family flew in from China to help celebrate the couple’s union with style and utter joy. The couple held a classic western marriage ceremony surrounded by a lush garden before donning red formal wear for their traditional Chinese wedding ceremony, during which the bride and groom kneel before their parents to express their gratitude and serve them tea.

Si and Chris took an extra personal approach by giving a special toast to each table of guests individually. The reception was accented with red, the traditional Chinese color of good luck and joy, and decorated with the symbol for “double happiness”, another Chinese wedding custom. Each guest found a small red gift box on their place setting which held a favor from the bride and groom and Si changed into a chic red cocktail dress to dance the night away!
