Megan and Chris were high school sweethearts and as Megan put it, they’ve been “going strong” for 10 years. When they started planning, they decided on a destination wedding in New Zealand and with lush wooded areas beside wide open spaces with views for miles and a nearby vineyard, their Gisborne location offered them amazing settings for photos.
Both Megan and Chris have family roots in the area, so Gisborne was a natural choice. The day started out at Megan’s Nana’s house on a farm near the reception venue, Bushmere Arms. The color palette of dusty violet, pinks and navy blue gave this traditional wedding a delicate airy feeling and was the perfect compliment to the lush greenery and bright blue New Zealand sky that surrounded Megan and Chris on their special day.
Megan looked angelic in her flowing chiffon column dress with lace and beaded detailing and her bridesmaids were right on trend in non-matching dresses in the color scheme of the day. Chris and his groomsmen were dapper in contrasting vests and ties in gray and blue. With a mix of hydrangea and roses the floral styling was spot on and even the bride and groom’s “getaway car”, a 1970’s classic in gunmetal gray, was color coordinated!
