Glenna and Chuck’s Gorgeous Garden Wedding

Glenna and Chuck chose the lovely and unique Frederik Meier Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan as their wedding venue because its grounds offered so many amazing photographic opportunities. The venue’s floor to ceiling windows helped to bring some of the lush feeling of the gardens inside and gave their reception an open, airy vibe.

When Glenna and Chuck met five years ago it was love at first sight. Glenna says, “Chuck bought me a drink and said he thought I was going to be his new girlfriend. Terrible pickup line, but apparently it worked.”

In contrast to the pastoral grounds and gardens, Glenna and Chuck planned a more formal wedding. Chuck and his groomsmen were decked out in tuxes and the bridesmaids appeared to float through the gardens in their flowing navy blue gowns. Glenna looked fabulous in her lace mermaid-cut gown with its billowing organza train and her short veil was the perfect compliment.

Inside the reception, grand floral arrangements stood high above the tables which were adorned with gold chargers and navy blue napkins. Vining greenery dotted with gilded votives served as table runners and instead of the traditional glass of champagne, a Stella Artois bottle and a tall glass was placed beside each setting. Was that the drink Chuck bought Glenna on the night they met? Maybe, but we just love the personalization of that touch!
