Jean and Lance met while out walking their dogs. This cute Chicago couple jokes about how they knew the dogs’ names before they knew each other’s, but they quickly became friends. And then they became more. They chose to say “I do” at the absolutely stunning St. Alphonsus Church in the city’s Lakeview section. Jean’s uncle, who is a Catholic priest, officiated. So, they had a truly personalized ceremony before heading to the Chicago History Museum for their reception.
After the ceremony, the wedding party braved the late summer heat to stroll around Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo and Nature Boardwalk for portraits. Then it was on to the museum to enjoy some cocktails at the reception. The historic building, which holds a variety of artifacts and exhibits, boasts grand architecture inside and out. With tall columns at the entrance, oak wood flooring throughout and views of Lincoln Park, the Museum is naturally surrounded by a rich culture and offers an ambiance of pure sophistication.
Jean and Lance amped things up with their reception decor. Elements of sparkling gold and blush were present in the table settings and the tall rose and hydrangea centerpieces added extra drama with shades of burgundy and pink. Jean’s bridesmaids looked glamorous in glittering gold gowns that were the perfect compliment to her fitted lace gown with its grand train. A long veil and vintage-inspired accessories completed Jean’s modern yet timeless look. Lance and his groomsmen were dashing in classic black tuxedoes with long ties. They achieved the perfect urban celebration filled with history, luxury and glamour – and even got a chance to snap a couple of photos with their dogs. Who, after all, brought them together in the first place!
