Mahta and Arash’s Lavish Washington DC Wedding

Mahta and Arash planned a lavish affair in the heart of our nation’s capital to celebrate their wedding. The day started with first looks outside the Capitol Building and photos at the Library of Congress. The breathtaking Beaux Arts architecture of the historic building set the scene for the opulence that awaited Mahta, Arash and their guests when they arrived at the Willard InterContinental Hotel for their reception in the stunning Crystal Room.

Mahta looked breathtaking in her mermaid cut David Tutera gown. Its lacy illusion sleeves and sexy sheer back were absolute show stoppers and pairing it with a dramatic long veil and delicate crown gave her look a regal feel. Her bridesmaids pale pink gowns were reminiscent of ancient Greece in their draping and fit perfectly with the day’s color scheme of pink, white and silver. Habibzadeh was stylish in his tux. His white dinner jacket made him look like a member of the “Rat Pack” and his groomsmen were dapper in traditional black tuxes, completing the bridal party’s luxurious styling.

The bride and groom were serenaded by a live harpist at the ceremony where a sofreh aghd was set with all the items that are customary on this quintessential centerpiece of Persian weddings, like a mirror, flowers, flatbread and rosewater. Designed in the royal tradition, the sofreh aghd fit seamlessly into the styling of their lavishly decorated reception ballroom. The Crystal Room’s amazing chandeliers inspired Mahta and Arash to go all out with tall centerpieces on crystal pedestals, silver satin tablecloths with gold accents and plenty of floating candles in tall vases for added sparkle. The perfect setting for the delectable Persian feast that was served, toasts by friends and family and a dance party that was still going strong at 2am. Congratulations Mahta and Arash!
