Kelsey and Edward’s Whimsical Outdoor Wedding

Vintage details and personal touches added whimsy to Kelsey and Edward’s serene outdoor wedding. They chose the lovely, Van Landingham Estate in Charlotte, NC for their wedding because of its “extraordinary surroundings and historic architecture”. Kelsey and Edward shared an intimate “first look” in a secluded part of the property where antique teacups hung from a canopy of trees that provided just the right amount of shade. Vintage doors adorned with floral wreaths created an entrance to the ceremony aisle and as the wedding party entered, they were serenaded by instrumental versions of popular songs. The couple’s sweet pit bull, Gatsby made the perfect ring bearer and a dear friend officiated the ceremony, with plenty of laughter and tears of joy. After the pair exchanged vows and their first kiss as husband and wife, they spent some time with close friends and family before stealing away for a few moments alone.

Kelsey looked gorgeous in her unique trumpet cut gown with its vintage lace details and ruffled, multi-tiered skirting. She finished her look with pearl accessories and a fingertip veil. Her bridesmaids were pretty in pink gowns with flowing chiffon skirting and lace bodices and all of the lades carried whimsical bouquets of peonies, succulents and wildflowers in shades of blush and pale pink. Edward and his groomsmen were right on trend in royal blue suits and each gentleman pinned a boutonnière of white rose and mini succulents to his lapel.

At the reception, tables were set with crisp white linens, gold chargers and pink and white floral centerpieces. Vintage touches like strands of pearls, lace and repurposed doors added to the historic charm of the property and guests gave speeches to wish the couple love, luck and happiness in their marriage. Everyone enjoyed a buffet dinner before hitting the dance floor and grooving with ATG Entertainment’s DJ. As the night drew to a close, Kelsey and Edward exited though a shower of confetti and went off to capture some romantic images relaxing on the grounds of the stunning estate.
