Andrea and Nick: Planning Together Pays Off

Andrea and Nick have been making plans and decisions as a team since High School! As Nick’s aunt, and the couple’s officiant, Paula put it, “Nick and Andrea mutually decided to go to prom together and have been mutually making decisions ever since.” Their wedding was no exception. They shared the major planning decisions and leant their individual skills to specific wedding related tasks, starting with the circular archway that Nick crafted to frame their outdoor ceremony. They exchanged vows in Potawatomi Park in their hometown of Rensselaer, Indiana. Guests were welcomed by a refreshing lemonade cart, manned by close friends of the bride and groom and designed by Andrea’s friend and former employer. After their first kiss as husband and wife, the party headed to eMbers, an industrial-chic event venue downtown, for a reception where every detail had been mutually chosen by the bride and groom, an amazing team!

Andrea was glowing in her lace A-line gown with its court train and sexy sheer bodice details. She finished her look with sparkling drop earrings and baby’s breath embellishments in her hair. Nick was handsome in a navy blue three-piece suit and gray tie, a color combination the two had chosen together. The wedding party was small, consisting of just a maid-of-honor and best man. Andrea’s maid-of-honor was pretty in a navy blue lace cocktail dress with a delicate strand of pearls at her neck and Nick’s best man was dapper in a gray suit with a navy tie, the opposite of Nick’s color combo. The ladies carried lush bouquets of white roses, wildflowers and greenery with pops of yellow. Andrea had considered coral for the accent color in the day’s scheme, but Nick prefers yellow, so they agreed. Yellow would complete the palette.

At the reception, long farmhouse style tables were set with shimmering pale taupe linens, modern geometric runners and yellow napkins.  Andrea and Nick’s head table was draped in baby’s breath and lush green plants with delicate white flowers were placed in wooden pots to create the centerpieces and give the styling a rustic twist. Accents of succulents and hanging paper lanterns completed the room’s decor and once the sun set, the Edison lights that hung above the space cast a romantic glow over the dance floor. Not to be outdone by Nick’s gorgeous ceremony arch, Andrea spent the day before her wedding on her own DIY project. She made all of the wedding’s desserts, including lemon bars and mini-cheesecakes from scratch! Andrea and Nick’s teamwork definitely paid off, their wedding was beautiful and personal and all of their guests had an amazing night celebrating this wonderful couple. Congratulations you two!
