The first vacation Cynthia and Scott ever took as a couple was to Turks and Caicos. Years later, when Scott was ready to propose, he did so on the beach in Venice, Florida. Cynthia’s dream was always to have a “beach wedding that was classic, chic, elegant and romantic”, so a destination wedding that took them back to Turks and Caicos was a no-brainer. This time they brought their closest friends and family to celebrate their union right on the sand. Cynthia says she came up with the color palette for the ceremony, which in included blush, ivory, white and soft greens, because she didn’t want “anything over the top”. The floral embellishments that adorned the ceremony’s arbor were the perfect shade of pink that Cynthia had dreamed of and she and her mom added some playful DIY elements like the sheer white bows they attached to the aisle chairs.
Cynthia was stunning in her fitted lace Martina Liana gown which she fell in love with on Pinterest. She first found a version with sleeves, which was impractical for the beach, but she finally found the sleeveless version at a trunk show where she actually got to meet the designer! She says, “the stars were aligned”. She got tips on styling from the designer herself and she saved money on alterations. She finished her look with an intricate updo and sparkling headpiece to hold her floor length veil in place. Scott was handsome in his beachy sand-colored suit and open-collared white button down and Cynthia carried her dream bouquet of blush pink peonies as she walked down the aisle toward him.
At the reception, Cynthia and her floral designer, Ernst from Flowers by EA decided to “kick it up a notch” and incorporate vibrant pops of fuchsia and bright pinks into the floral arrangements while keeping the blush tones as the base. Tables were set with white linens and lanterns under a canopy of palm trees that held strands of Edison lights for a soft glow and more DIY details brought from home completed the decor. Touches like river stone seating cards, table numbers and personalized signage were all lovingly made by the bride and her mom. With an elegant stage set, it was easy for Cynthia, Scott and their guests to have an amazing night celebrating under the stars.
