Hannah and Taylor had a fairytale engagement in Tuscany, which makes up for their meeting which Hannah says was, “in the most unromantic of ways… in a bar”. They had gone to Italy to celebrate Hannah’s law school graduation and found themselves at a picturesque family-owned winery on a hilltop in Tuscany. They toured the estate, which included an historic chapel where generations of the family had been wed, it was there that Taylor got down on one knee and asked Hannah “to be his forever”. It was so moving that even the owner of the winery got in on the celebration, giving the couple a bottle of a special sparkling rosato he had crafted for his own daughter’s wedding! When they got home from their amazing trip, Hannah got started planning the wedding of her dreams. She says she knew she “wanted to throw an extravagant over-the-top party… that no one would forget”. So she drew inspiration from the formal galas and debutante presentations she had attended as a girl growing up in the south, including her own spin as Mardi Gras Queen. She wanted to “take the regal-ness of those events” and combine it with a fun party atmosphere that was personalized enough that guests would say “yep, Hannah and Taylor picked that” when they saw the details.
Hannah was absolutely stunning in her beaded lace trumpet cut gown with its tiered skirting and sweetheart neckline. When she found the dress at Blush Bridal in Baton Rouge it had everything she’d dreamed of, except a long train. The shop made a phone call to the dress’s designer and voila, they added an extra three feet of train, making the gown absolutely perfect! Her bridesmaids were glamorous in plum gowns, each with a different bodice design and all of the ladies carried a classic white rose bouquet. Taylor and his groomsmen wore traditional black tuxedos by Michael Kors, enhancing the formal look Hannah had envisioned. Taylor wore a white tie and vest and his guys were dapper in black accessories. After their first dance, Hannah changed into a second look, an A-line gown with a beaded bodice and delicate cap sleeves. She wasn’t planning on a separate reception look, but fell in love with the gown just two weeks before the wedding!
The main color scheme of the day was white and gold. Hannah says, “those colors convey the glamorous theme I was going for while remaining timeless for years to come.” For the ceremony, which took place at Our Lady of Mercy in Baton Rouge, white florals and gold accents were incorporated into the church’s already gorgeous decor. At the reception, Hannah and her wedding planner, Alli, transformed the large convention style hotel ballroom into an ultra-glam event space. They draped the walls in white fabric and placed pink uplighting throughout the space to give the room dimension. They added a white dance floor that had a custom gold “wedding crest” applied to the center and gold accents like the chairs and bases for the centerpieces could be found throughout the space. The florals were mainly white with some light pink accents and personalized details like a custom brewed beer and live wedding painter made for an unforgettable night. Hannah and Taylor had a custom stage built for their band, The Mixed Nuts, to perform on and even had personalized tambourines made, so guests could get in the groove. For dessert, the newlyweds not only served a gorgeous four-tiered wedding cake, but also had two adorable groom’s cakes. One, a tribute to their dog, Samson, the other, a nod to Taylor’s love of golf. It was a truly glamorous event. Congratulations Hannah and Taylor!
