Crisy and Nick were set up by Nick’s best friend and they hit it off right away. Nick proposed after the two spent an absolutely perfect fall day together, pumpkin picking, navigating a corn maze and finally enjoying a delicious dinner out. Once the couple returned to their home that October evening, Nick got down on one knee and asked Cristy to be his bride. Of course, she said yes, and the pair started planning for another perfect fall day, their wedding. Cristy and Nick’s faith is hugely important to them, so their ceremony included a traditional Catholic nuptial mass. The stunning St. Lawrence Catholic Church was decked out in autumn details as Cristy made her way down the aisle and afterward Vintage Oaks Banquet Barn in Delphi, IN was the perfect backdrop for portraits before the reception.
Cristy was radiant in her traditional ballgown with its lace bodice, delicate cap sleeves and layered tulle skirting. She finished her look with a fingertip veil and sparkling pair of tennis shoes for glamorous all day comfort. Her bridesmaids wore non-matching gowns in rich jewel tones as a salute to the season and they all carried vibrant bouquets of sunflowers, Gerbera daisies and eucalyptus wrapped in sapphire blue ribbon. Nick and his groomsmen were handsome in gray suits with ties to coordinate with the ladies’ gowns.
Fall fabulousness and plenty of DIY details were the theme at the reception. Farmhouse style tables were set with navy blue linens and gourds from Nick’s aunt’s garden were filled with flowers to serve as centerpieces along with rustic lanterns. More gourds lined the steps to the barn’s hay loft and wooden barrels were decorated with them as well. Cristy’s mom is a professional baker and made several of the desserts on Cristy and Nick’s buffet and her grandmother contributed several pies from favorite family recipes. Family and friends pitched in to create the floral arrangements using sunflowers, daisies and roses. And, since the newlyweds planned a two week honeymoon in Ireland, bells of Ireland made the perfect accent flower. Cristy’s dad surprised her with a song he wrote for the father/daughter dance, having a friend perform it and one of Nick’ groomsmen made a splash on the dance floor when he dressed up like a dinosaur. Congratulations Cristy and Nick!
