Marianne and Graham’s Mediterranean Destination Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Marianne and Graham were introduced by mutual friends. They spent a year just talking on the phone as friends until Graham showed up on Marianne’s doorstep with flowers on Valentine’s Day and took her out on their very first date. They were together for several years before Graham surprised Marianne with a marriage proposal. Of course, she said yes and they got started planning the wedding of their dreams. Marianne says she had always envisioned something “unique and stylish yet cool” she wanted her wedding to be “more like one big party”. Including family was of the utmost importance, so the couple traveled to Lebanon, where Marianne’s family lives, to celebrate in Mediterranean style! They started with a ceremony in the very same cathedral where Marianne’s mother had been baptized.

Marianne was stunning in her organza gown with its lacy bodice, off-the-shoulder sleeves and dramatic lace train. She finished her look with a cathedral length veil, which served as her “something borrowed”. Her sister had worn it at her wedding the year prior! Graham was handsome in a classic black suit and Marianne carried an all-white bouquet. The reception was definitely the “big party” Marianne had always wanted. There was food, family and music. Marianne loves that no one sat down the whole night, they just danced and partied at an open air restaurant overlooking the gorgeous Mediterranean Sea. Congratulations Marianne and Graham!
