Tara and Ryan were visiting one of their favorite vacation spots when Ryan popped the question. A quaint village called Greenport at the eastern end of the north fork of Long Island. But, unbeknownst to Tara, Ryan had already asked for her parents’ permission. He’d also already called ahead to their favorite oyster bar and made arrangements for a romantic post-proposal lunch. So, in the center of the village, in front of the antique carousel, Ryan proposed to Tara and of course, she said yes!
They got married at Maritime Parc in Jersey City, NJ. First, the wedding party got ready in NYC and then hopped a ferry across the Hudson River to the venue. There, Tara and Ryan posed for first look photos before their traditional Jewish wedding ceremony where Tara’s uncle served as officiant. Tara was gorgeous in her timeless A-line gown and Ryan was dapper in his classic black tuxedo. They exchanged vows under a canopy of white orchids.
The reception decor featured white florals and floating candles, meanwhile gray table linens enhanced the urban setting. Instead of a guest book, friends and family signed a “guest globe” and hand rolled sushi was a hit at the cocktail hour. To get the party started, the newlyweds entered to “This Is How We Do It” before sharing their first dance to “Stand By Me”. Next came an awesome hora that Ryan describes as the “best 10 minutes” of his life. Except, of course, for the ceremony when he married his best friend! Congratulations Tara and Ryan!
