Kayla and TJ’s Traditional Southern Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Kayla and TJ have known each other their whole lives. But they didn’t talk much while they were growing up. It wasn’t until they ran into each other while out with friends one night that TJ got Kayla’s number. They texted on and off for a while, but Kayla truly believed neither one of them was ready for anything serious.

Eventually, TJ insisted on taking Kayla out on a real date. She figured it couldn’t hurt and so she went out with him. And suddenly, the girl who wasn’t ready for anything serious fell head over heels for the boy she’d known her whole life! They’ve been together ever since.

Kayla had always dreamed of a traditional Southern wedding, so she and TJ said “I do” at a stately mansion in North Carolina. Kayla was gorgeous in her classic satin gown with its full skirt and deep V neckline. Her bridesmaids were also in satin, setting the perfect tone for the timeless look she wanted. Meanwhile, TJ and his guys were handsome in gray. TJ wore a white tie, while his groomsmen sported pink to match the ladies’ skirts.

Kayla says her favorite parts of the wedding were the florals and decor. And she honored her late grandmother by incorporating blue and white vases into the table decor. She says, “the old classic style with southern charm made me feel as if she was right there with me.” In addition, TJ and Kayla got a little help from their friends when it came to creating their dream wedding. They both count themselves lucky to know such talented people! At the same time, Kayla’s preference for antique gold and a spring color palette brought everything together beautifully. Congratulations Kayla and TJ!
