Karen and Nima met in college, but they didn’t start dating until three years later! They’d been together for six years when Nima decided to propose. He planned to pop the question on one of the couple’s Sunday bike rides. However, he had to come up with a different plan. Since it was November and quite chilly, Karen didn’t feel like riding. So, he chose Thanksgiving weekend and planned a date night at National Harbor, a waterfront resort in DC with a stunning Christmas tree.
Nima was nervous. So, he and Karen got to the resort an hour before dinner to take in the sights. When they arrived he decided he would ask right then. Although, he hesitated for a minute. That’s when fireworks erupted over the water and he knew this was his moment! It was perfect. He got down on one knee and asked Karen to be his wife. Of course, she said yes!
Nima and Karen simply fell in love with Chanteclaire Farm the moment they saw it. Karen says getting married on a farm never occurred to them before that. The day started with first looks before their outdoor ceremony. Karen was stunning in her sleek gown and Nima was dashing in his tux. And as an added bonus, Karen’s dad drove her to the ceremony in his classic 1960s Triumph. And it just happens to be blue!
The reception decor featured raw wood and crystal chandeliers. At the same time, vintage touches and pastel florals added country charm. While white linens and delicate centerpieces gave the tablescapes an airy feel. Nima and Karen enjoyed posing with their guests in a glammed-out photo booth. And everyone had fun in the funky silo bar. Congratulations Karen and Nima!
