Payal and Prav’s Cultural Fusion Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Payal and Prav’s wedding was the perfect cultural fusion between their Indian heritage and their American style. Most importantly, they knew they wanted to honor their culture. However, they didn’t want a traditional multi-day Indian wedding. In other words, they wanted a simple celebration that truly reflected who they are as individuals and as a couple. So, they incorporated Indian traditions into their ceremony, but brought American flair to the reception. And they did it in style!

For the ceremony, Payal wore a stunning red and gold sari in addition her traditional mehndi and sparkling ruby and gold jewelry. Prav wore a gold sherwani and together they made a gorgeous couple. They exchanged vows while observing their cultural traditions and after that, they got to kick back and relax. For Payal and Prav it was all about the celebration!

Their Austin venue, Pecan Springs Ranch was beautifully rustic and upscale at the same time. The reception decor featured delicate florals and lush greenery. Not to mention rustic signage and personal details, that brought the cultural fusion to life. And Payal even changed into a different sari before her first dance with Prav! Meanwhile, friends and family delighted the bride and groom with speeches and traditional dances of their own. After that, the newlyweds snuck outside for some sunset portraits before cutting the cake. Congratulations Payal and Prav!
