A Sweet Elopement Story (Literally!)

Natalie and Joseph’s love story is sweet… quite literally!  Here it is in their own words:

“We have known each other since middle school, and we became high school sweethearts.  Our first real date was when he took me to get fro-yo after a really bad night. It’s become a ritual– when I’m in a bad mood, he’ll ask me if I want to go to Yogurtown and I get my favorite peanut butter + cake batter with chocolate chips.

“In our relationship, we’ve both learned to really appreciate the little things. As we’ve become adults, we’ve grown together. I dreamed about what my wedding would be like when I was a kid…but after disagreements with family, that’s impossible. But I know I love Joe, and I want to spend our special day celebrating the small things. We went to an ice cream shop on Mackinac Island last year, and I got an unconventional idea… I wanted to take photos after the ceremony at the ice cream parlor!”

Natalie and Joseph had pictures taken after their elopement ceremony on Mackinac Island in Michigan.  They started with pictures in the beautiful Somewhere in Time Gazebo (from the movie) and then ventured into the forest, rented bikes (no cars are allowed on the island, so bikes are a must-do) and rode them to the aforementioned ice cream parlor! It was such a sweet day and celebration of their love!
