Although COVID-19 has transformed weddings and the wedding industry as we know it, Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville is working to make your big day feel as normal as possible.

With its waterfront views and fashionable ballroom, as well as their top-notch accommodations, you’ll feel as though you’re having a wedding in early 2020 – with certain health precautions in place, of course.

The Magnolia Room

Your reception will be held in the club’s Magnolia Room, a ballroom that features floor-to-ceiling windows and “panoramic views of Lake Manassas, shimmering water fountains and the golf course’s eighteenth green.” At night, the ballroom is gently lit by wrought-iron crystal-accented chandeliers, which will undoubtedly add more romance to the occasion. If you hold your ceremony at Stonewall as well, it can be held just outside the Magnolia Room’s French doors, which lead to a gorgeous terrace.

Although your wedding cannot fill the 200-guest maximum capacity of the beautiful ballroom due to state-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, Stonewall Golf Club will still accommodate couples to the fullest.

“We can utilize the full space of the ballroom but we can make it seem like it’s not 2400 square feet either,” said Sarah Puckett, Stonewall Golf Club’s Director of Sales. “[We can] make it feel a lot more comfortable and really play to the micro-wedding theme that’s on trend at the moment.”

Culinary and Accommodations

Stonewall Golf Club, along with having a stunning ballroom and majestic views, is also a full-service venue. When you have your ceremony and/or reception there, you will also be getting in-house food and beverage with the exception of the wedding cake. Your catering menu can be completely customized to your liking, as the club’s chef is well-versed in a variety of cuisines.

“We love customizing all of our menus, but our chef, in particular, has more of a Southern-cuisine background. Sandy Freeman is her name,” said Puckett. “She’s been in the industry for many years now and is very well-versed in many culinary traditions and experiences.”

Your package will also include beverages, which could entail a full-service or cash bar, and a specialty cocktail.

Aside from exemplary culinary accommodations offered by the club, you would also receive access to the club’s bridal suite for day-of preparation.

Special COVID-19 Services

As mentioned before, due to COVID-19 restrictions guests are limited, but Stonewall Golf Club has special accommodations in place to ensure that everyone can see your big day. They offer live streaming services for the ceremony, the first dances, the speeches from the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, and any other particularly important parts of the weddings.

Although the live stream obviously cannot replace the experience of an in-person wedding, it makes everyone feel just a little bit closer when they’re so far apart. And at the end of the day, all that really matters is that the couple enjoys their festivities.

“Obviously it’s the dream for every bride and groom to have all their family and friends there,” said Puckett. “But I think also for a lot of couples ultimately the main point and focus are on them. … The marriage is still the main focal point.”
