Setting the Scene
Romantic French doors, wrought iron chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling windows, a spiraling indoor staircase, a beautiful ballroom, expansive patio space, a natural wood bridge and views of green hills, fairways, and the Bull Run Mountains hunt country. What could be a better backdrop to exchange vows and begin the beautiful, lifelong journey that is marriage?
As the recipient of the WeddingWire’s Couples Choice Award for seven years in a row (2010-2016), it’s no wonder that Piedmont Club is such a favorite wedding venue in Haymarket and all of Northern Virginia. For over 20 years, Piedmont Club has prided itself in being a sophisticated, stylish and charming choice for brides- and grooms-to-be; their lavish space has been home to many wedding showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions.
Piedmont Club always strives to “set themselves apart” and “provide a dream wedding for their clients,” says Rhonda Lo Presti, Regional Director at ClubCorp Mid-Atlantic Region. “Event coordination is included [in wedding packages]. The event coordinator is on-site, does day-of-wedding coordination, and works out all of the details to execute the ceremony from start to finish.”
A couple doesn’t have to have membership, live locally or go through a formal consultation in order to host their wedding at Piedmont Club, and every detail of the big day is customized to fit the character of the twosome.
“Every wedding is unique,” Lo Presti says. “We work with every single couple to match their style and taste, and customize their wedding so it’s exactly what they’re envisioning. Every wedding is special to us. We go above and beyond to make every couple’s experience is unique to them.”
Wedding packages are comprised of high-quality dining/catering options, use of the luxury bridal suite, setup access throughout the entire wedding day, and even use of the club’s china, glassware, and flatware. Couples have the choice to host their ceremonies and/or receptions indoors in the ballroom (where they get a view of the 18th fairway), or have an outdoor ceremony on the beautiful patio overlooking the golf course.
Past, Present and Future
The normal capacity for Piedmont Club weddings and receptions was 200 people with about 80 weddings yearly. Now, under the coronavirus-pandemic umbrella and state restrictions, indoor ceremonies have reached an average of 10 people, and 25 is the maximum for outdoor celebrations. Social distancing guidelines made it so that only 20 weddings were held at Piedmont Club in 2020.
“Even in hard times, we were able to host some really beautiful weddings,” says Lo Presti. “We received comments from brides and they said that they had such an amazing experience. They were able to spend time with those closest to them. [Both] brides and grooms were so thankful to be able to celebrate.”
With at least two nuptials taking place at Piedmont Club next month, the springtime ushers in a new season of hope, growth and optimism.
“[In 2021] we want to host as many weddings as we can and bring in as many families as we can,” Lo Presti says. “We want to rebound and move on from 2020, start fresh and host really great events.”
