Get ready to feast your eyes on Kaitlin and Jeff’s wedding! Kaitlin and Jeff first met back in 2014. A mutual friend set up a trip to Cedar Point and both Kaitlin and Jeff were attending. When Kaitlin arrived at the hotel to check in, she met Jeff who proceeded to give her a hug. They hit it off and have been together ever since! Fast forward a couple of years and Jeff and Kaitlin were on vacation in Florida. On their last night they decided to go grab dinner at a fancy restaurant that was on the beach. While they were waiting for their table, Jeff suggested that they should take a walk on the beach. While they were walking on the sands of St. Pete Beach, Jeff got down on one knee and asked Kaitlin to marry him! She obviously said yes!
Kaitlin and Jeff were originally planning on tying the knot surrounded by their family and friends last April. However, as we all know, COVID-19 disrupted all of the plans and they had to put their big wedding on hold. They didn’t want COVID to cancel their love so they decided to still tie the knot on their original wedding date and then hold their big wedding for their 1 year anniversary. They were married last year at Kaitlin’s church with just their parents present. It was the most perfect intimate wedding!
After all of the wait, you can only imagine how excited Kaitlin and Jeff were to finally have the big wedding of their dreams and get to celebrate with all of their friends and family. They held their vow renewal at Valle Vista Country Club in Greenwood, Indiana. Their wedding was filled with lavender and silver accents and it was the most perfect day! Kaitlin and Jeff also had a daughter between their wedding and vow renewal so they were so excited to have her be a part of their big wedding! She had the cutest dress and Jeff even did a father/daughter dance with her at the reception.
FROM THE COUPLE
How/when/where did you meet?
Jeff and a mutual friend from Purdue wanted to plan a Cedar Point trip. Kaitlin was the only other person that could make it. We met August 14, 2014 when we checked into the hotel near Cedar Point. The first thing Jeff did was give Kaitlin (then a stranger) a hug and she said, “Oh! You’re a hugger.” Jeff and Kaitlin joke about that statement still today.
How/when/where did the proposal happen?
Jeff won a trip to St. Pete Beach off the local radio station. The last night of the trip, we made plans to go to a “fancy” dinner place but didn’t call for reservations since it was a week night. We had time after we put our name with the hostess. Jeff suggested we take a walk on the beach while they were waiting for their table. Jeff pauses the walk and proposed on St. Pete Beach. After the proposal we went back to the “fancy” restaurant and then decided the food didn’t sound good and was very high prices so we decided to go get pizza from the resort which was perfect because we had pizza on our first date.
What was the vision for your wedding, the style/color/scheme?
Elegant and traditional.
How many guests?
110
Why did you choose your wedding venue?
Moderately prices and had the ballroom look we wanted. Also, they put out and remove decorations so everyone can enjoy the day and not worry about cleanup.
Describe your ceremony, what makes it unique/special?
We are doing a traditional ceremony and don’t have any unique things that come to mind.
Describe your reception, what makes it unique/special?
Also a traditional reception and can’t think of anything unique.
Describe the flowers used for floral arrangements?
I just gave her a budget and said to do some purples.
What was the inspiration for your wedding cake?
We wanted something elegant and simple.
Describe the favors for guests?
Jeff has collected Pez candy dispensers since he was young. Kaitlin has fond memories of Pez and we both now collect and go to Pez collector conventions together. We got custom printed Pez hearts with our last name and the date.
