Cakes by Happy Eatery is a retail storefront desserts bakery. Whether one needs a sweet treat for the day or a cake to celebrate a milestone, they are ready to bake and design a creation that will bring a smile. The bakery is always creating eye-popping designs or baking enticing aromas of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Cakes by Happy Eatery is looking for additional members for our A-team.

Pastry Assistant

The role of the Pastry Assistant is to facilitate the baking and production of the daily cakes and pastries plus coordinate with the sales team on what products are available. The ideal candidate is an organized and precise individual that enjoys baking and experimenting with new flavors and designs, in addition to the following:

• Worked in a kitchen producing and finishing final products.
• Possess a strong desire to learn and grow with the real-world opportunities of a busy small business.
• Constant achiever with great attention to details.
• Proactive and able to operate with minimal supervision.
• Able to multi-task to maximize oven rotation and pastry production.
• A self-starter that can work independently and within a group.

Sales Associate

The role of the Sales Associate is to convey what products and services the bakery can offer and match them to the customer’s needs, vision, and budget. The ideal candidate is a personable communicator. This individual should have some understanding of key celebratory events, such as the differences between a baby shower/first birthday vs, cartoon/gaming themed cakes to bridal shower/wedding, etc., in addition to the following:

• Worked in retail where special requests were part of the daily duties.
• Organized – ensuring inventory are well stocked and orders are properly scheduled.
• Possess a strong desire to learn and grow with the real-world opportunities of a busy small business.
• Achiever with great attention to details.
• Proactive and able to operate with minimal supervision.
• Able to multi-task and serve walk-in customers, answer phones, and able to prioritize tasks.
• A self-starter that can work independently and within a group.

All applicants must be able to stand/walk for long hours and be able to lift 30+ pounds. While the work schedule is fixed days week to week, there are days where shifts start earlier or end later, thus all applicants must have their own vehicle. Full-time hours can range 35 to 45 hours per week. Semi-annual bonuses available based on attendance and merit. Additional compensation paid for off-site delivery/setup of catered events. Proof of the fully vaccinated COVID-19 shots is required.
