Looking for the perfect venue to host your upcoming wedding or event? Look no further than the fabulous Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, Virginia. We chatted with Susan Landess, the Sales & Community Relations Manager at Hylton, about this incredible venue and its many possibilities.
“The Hylton Performing Arts Center is a stunning, architecturally designed building containing multiple venues for events and performances. Event spaces include everything from the Didlake Grand Foyer, our main lobby with two story window wall and art gallery on the second floor, to the intimate Lovey Hammell Lounge with private service kitchen and restroom. In between, we have a variety of different styled and sized spaces. In the new Education and Rehearsal Wing that just opened before COVID, we have two more stunning spaces – the Large Rehearsal Hall with striking wooden wall and floor and the more intimate Ballard-Postma Studio featuring a floor to ceiling corner window looking out to the woods,” Landess said.
Capacities throughout the building range from 750 for a standing event in the Didlake Grand Foyer to 50 standing in the Lovey Hammel Lounge. In between, they feature the Gregory Family Theater, seating 240 with room for a dance floor; the Large Rehearsal Hall seating 200 with room for a dance floor; the Ballard-Postma Studio seating 140 with room for a dance floor; and several smaller rooms. Several of the spaces feature theatrical lighting and sound, allowing you to customize the room’s “look” to your preference.
“Weddings and receptions at the Hylton Center are easy, as we allow you to put multiple spaces together to accommodate your needs. We have round tables seating 8-10, and heavy-duty folding chairs available for your use. There is no in-house caterer, but you may choose from a long list of those approved,” Landess said.
“Our event staff will work with your caterers, decorators, planners, florists, photographers, etc. to make sure to deliver a delightful wedding for you and your guests. Parking fees are included in your estimate, so your guests pay nothing, and there are over 600 parking spaces to either side of our building,” she continued.
So what exactly makes Hylton Performing Arts Center unique as a wedding and event venue?
“Since we are a performing arts venue, we have many talented staff that can help you realize out-of-the-ordinary ideas. Whether it is stunning lighting or placement of specialty décor, our staff has the knowledge to help find solutions that work in the space and create the look you want. As theatrical folks, the out-of-the-ordinary is normal for us! Our building features striking colors in copper and rich purple, but also works well as a neutral background and provides stunning backgrounds for photographs,” Landess said.
