Bed and Breakfast Wedding

Let me tell you about Brittany & Alex’s intimate bed & breakfast wedding in Norwich CT! This tented wedding was the pinnacle of classic elegance for a garden wedding. There were cascading eucalyptus and white rose garlands, pillar candles and golden accents, and instead of a formal sit down dinner, Brittany & Alex planned a passed hors d’oeuvres cocktail reception with a cute cocktail bus!

Brittany and Alex are Connecticut natives who have known each other since high school. They were friends back then, and then somehow wound up in Florida as separate individuals and started dating while living there together after reconnecting. They still live in Florida but started planning their Connecticut wedding for October 17, 2020 at the Pond House before Covid struck. When Covid became a thing, they continued to hold out hope for their day – postponing was not an option for them. And then when it became clear that it would be unlikely we would be out of Phase 2 for their wedding date, the Pond House cancelled on them – talk about stress! So just mere months before their wedding date Brittany and Alex re-planned their wedding from top to bottom with a new venue, new planner, new caterer, had to re-coordinate other existing vendors to make sure they could travel out to the new venue which was in Norwich… it was exhausting!

Oh yeah, did I mention that Brittany and Alex live in Florida? They were dealing with all of this long distance! They didn’t even see their AirBnB venue until the day before their wedding. They and many of their guests were paying hundreds of dollars to get private, rapid Covid-19 testing to ensure everyone could attend the wedding safely.

But the day was magical! It was everything all of us who poured our hearts and souls into bringing it to fruition could have dreamed it to be. Brittany & Alex created an atmosphere that was so relaxed, carefree and full of love.
