Hops Farm Wedding in the Finger Lakes

Abby and Josiah met on Bumble, a modern day love story if you will. After their first date Abby knew Josiah was the one – she even voice memo’d her vows on that drive home! She made a joke towards that in the vows that made it to the ceremony but it just goes to show that when you know you know.

As for the proposal? Josiah knocked it out of the park. To start he had Abby plan a date night, in the midst of being stuck inside because of Covid, it was overdue! It also gave them both an excuse to get dressed up, and who doesn’t love that after months of not? No fancy reservations needed for these two – they just picked up a bottle of wine, takeout, and headed out to Cobbs Hill Reservoir – where they had their very first date! Following the date, they were headed back to Josiah’s place for a bonfire with their friends, or so Abby thought. Josiah planted a seed that they had done some landscaping and she just had to see it! However, because of the landscaping they had to enter from the side gate rather than the house so she’d get the “Full effect.” Turns out Josiah had strung up lights, with a white stone path with sunflowers (Abby’s favorite) lining the path with candles and his record player playing their favorite songs. He got down on one knee, and the rest is history. She had no idea it was coming!

Fast forward to their wedding day, a gorgeous Friday afternoon in June at the beautiful Climbing Bines Hops Farm & Brewery. The venue has rows of Hops overlooking Seneca Lake. These two had a beautiful ceremony with little touches that made it special to them. From a flower man, a bridesmaid singing while they took their first communion, to Josiah’s dad marrying them. Following the ceremony was a party to remember. Their families really know how to have a good time, and the DJ kept everyone on the dance floor all night!
