The Osprey’s at Belmont Bay hosted a wedding show on Sunday, March 6.
This unique and classic waterfront venue held their first wedding show of the year, inviting a number of vendors and guests to explore their options for their future ceremonies. Vendors included A Taste of Elegance, DC Bridal Hair and Makeup, Crystal Dream Entertainment, Girl Meets Cake, SVC Films, and Nichole Haun Photography, showing guests endless options for food, photos, entertainment, and flowers.
The venue was packed, with lines of guests waiting outside with more roaming freely throughout the area, the rooms filled with lively music, excited chatter, tasty samples, and photo opportunities. Osprey employees worked tirelessly to assist and answer questions, hosting their vendors with grace and welcoming their guests with ease.
“We wanted to have an opportunity to invite clients and people looking for a venue to introduce our preferred vendors, get a feel of the space, and meet friendly faces,” event coordinator Amy Domenech said. “We did this for the first time in 2020 before Covid, so we’re trying to revamp it. Our plan is to do these events once a year in March.”
The Osprey’s offers a wide range of deals for couples to enjoy on their special day, and the event gave them the chance to present those deals.
“There are a ton of amazing vendors we work with, but the ones that are here today have an extensive portfolio with us. We have many special deals for clients; decor is now included in the packages and we provide “day-of” directors that execute the entire wedding, including setup and cleanup. I really feel that here, you get so much for your money,” Amy said.
Couples getting married at The Osprey’s have the ceremony right on the Occoquan River, with the landscape creating beautiful backgrounds for photo sessions. Guests also have the capability to choose specific vendors and get ensured quality service with trusted businesses.
“The wedding business is so much about relationship-building; everybody that we work with is somebody we have forged a personal connection with over the years,” event director Hunter Wood said. “We treat each other like family; they take care of our venue and then we take care of them.”
Examples of long-time partners include Carla Pressley Hair and Makeup and Mychelle’s Alterations. These small businesses have worked with venues like The Osprey’s for years and have professional training and experience.
“I work with all skin tones and hair textures and style men as well as women, and I used to work at a salon so I have hands-on experience,” Carla Pressley said. “I’m here today to support The Osprey’s since they’ve supported me so much, and also meet the other vendors.”
Johnny Nguyen, owner of Mychelle’s, specializes in alterations and adjustments for dresses and other wedding apparel. “We have been in the business for 10 years and have participated in bridal and fashion shows with partners throughout Virginia,” he said.
The professionalism of these vendors was noticed, with many participants eagerly seeking business and enjoying their offers.
“Everything is set up well and really enjoyable, and I like how the vendors here offer in-house pricing for this venue, that’s what drew us to it,” participant Francesca Gain said about the event.
The Osprey’s created a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to meet and for guests to browse, filling the day with activities and offers. Their scenic venue and unmatched hospitality makes them exceptional in the wedding business. Interested in booking a wedding?
