A Magical Harry Potter Themed Wedding in Virginia

Captured & submitted by M Harris Studios

Zack and Arianna met on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. After chatting a bit, Arianna got sick and didn’t respond for a few days, and Zack worried that she had ghosted him. He made one last effort to get her attention and gave her his number. They started texting and she agreed to go on a date with him if they had a phone conversation first. That first phone call last over an hour, and their first date lasted well into the night. By the time they had their second date the next day, they both knew they had found the one, and both deleted the dating app.

Zack proposed to Arianna on the day before her birthday during her big family birthday party. She had been suspicious that something was going on when Zack was constantly making secret phone calls. She could tell he was nervous during her birthday party because he was pacing and avoiding her. Then Zack took her hand and led her on a walk around the yard. As his hands were shaking as he was pointing out the flowers in her father’s yard, Arianna knew the moment was coming, and she got nervous as well! Music began to play and the two began to dance. They could hear their families singing the chorus of the song from the porch. When the song ended, Zack got down on one knee, and of course Arianna said yes! The happy couple immediately started planning their dream wedding.

Zack and Arianna fell in love with Oak Creek Farm in Unionville, Virginia as soon as they saw it! Zack’s favorite part of wedding planning was the first time they went to see their venue. For him, it was a jaw-dropping experience. Arianna also enjoyed standing there knowing that it would be the place where she would get married. Her favorite part of wedding planning was going through pre-marital counseling, because it brought her and Zack closer together and they both had a lot of fun.

The two share a love of Harry Potter, so they knew that they wanted a Wizarding Word/Harry Potter themed wedding. The color palette of burgundy, jade, and gray tied together with elements from Harry Potter really brought their vision to life! Christina Moore was the planner and floral designer who took their concept and made a stunning wedding from it. The real showstopper of the day was Arianna’s BLACK wedding dress! She found her perfect dress (appropriately named “Blaze”!) at Ava Laurenne Bridal. It was magnificent! All the little details of this wedding were flawlessly put together, and I loved being a part of this unique wedding!
