Interview with the happy couple!

How did you meet?

We met the summer of 2016 in Santa Barbara, CA. We had both just started working with a ballet company there.

How did he propose?

As soon as midnight hit on January 1, 2020. We were at my mom’s in Washington state.

Why did you select your wedding venue?

We had toured a few places prior to Covid, and almost settled on a different one. But at some point in 2021 we found Glen Ellen Farm, and it was just beautiful. Also, it helped that the price was right and that the owner’s cat came to greet us.

What advice can you give to other couples planning their wedding?

Don’t feel obligated to go based off what people tell you is tradition. If it doesn’t feel right for the two of you, then chances are, it’s not right. Also, this is an equal process. Don’t feel badgered by anyone telling you that only the bride can make decisions. There are two people getting married.

What part of the planning process was most fun for you

Planning the honeymoon. We went to Hawaii so picking all the excursions were really fun.

Where did you find inspiration for your wedding?

Finding themes on Pinterest was really helpful. Then taking that to the craft stores was where we found the design we wanted.

What were your favorite wedding moments?

We are dancers, so the party aspect was I think were we had the most fun.

What was your favorite part of working with us?

The portraits before the ceremony were done really easily. The directions were easy to follow. But what I liked most was that during the ceremony and reception, I barely noticed the photographer  moving around. She was not intrusive at all. It made is so that the candid photos turned out great and really captured the moments that meant a lot to us.
