An interview with the happy couple!

How did you two meet and fall in love?

Brides POV : We met at Lancaster Bible College. My older brother Kenny actually knew Caleb first, because he too went to LBC. I was a freshman and Caleb was a junior. Towards the end of my freshman year, Caleb and I started to become friends. Soon after, I realized that I wanted Caleb to stick around. We became friends, then very good friends, then best friends. Obviously, as many best friend relationships do, one of the friends becomes smitten, and that friend happened to be me. I liked Caleb, but he didn’t like me back. So then, like any confident girl, I stopped liking him and denied my feelings for months. Unknown to me, while I was denying my feelings, he then started to think about liking me. Eventually, at the end of my sophomore year, we both liked each other at the same time. And well now, the rest is history, and now he’s gonna stick around for good 🙂

Grooms POV : I met Karissa when she was a freshman. Everyone was talking about Kenny’s little sister so I knew who she was before she knew who I was. Karissa first spoke to me in the lobby of the East dorm building on campus. She was trying to get to know my friend through me because he is apparently cute.

This bloomed into a friendship. My senior year started and she and I were hanging out and ‘doing homework’ quite frequently. She and I ended up having a conversation about how our friendship was more than a standard friendship.

One of her closest friends, Julia, asked me how I felt about Karissa the next day. I told Julia that I was going to marry Karissa.

I knew that day that I was going to marry her. I think I have always known deep down. It would explain the sick feeling I had in my stomach the first time she spoke to me in that lobby.

What was most important to you when planning your wedding?

It being our own

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

We both enjoy being outside. I, the bride, had a cousin who had gotten married under a large tree, I was about 11 years old, and ever since then I always thought it would be magical to do the same thing.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding?

First dance

How will you describe the feeling you had on your wedding day to your children one day?

Anxious but not in a worrying way, more just in excitement. I think it’s because I knew I was about to marry my best friend.
