Sweeney Barn is a modern venue in the heart of Manassas, Virginia. Renovated with state-of-the-art amenities, it’s the perfect space for a variety of events, whatever the occasion. With a beautiful outdoor lawn and two levels of indoor space, there are so many possibilities for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Two separate indoor spaces also means that it has a great rain plan in case of inclement weather. Sweeney Barn can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated reception, or up to 300 for a standing, cocktail-style event.
A Wedding In A Barn? Really?
Sweeney Barn is different from most rustic venues in that it’s centrally located with guest amenities within easy driving distance. Hotels are within 5-10 minutes of the venue. There are rehearsal dinner locations and late-night bars nearby for an afterparty. Dulles International Airport is only about 35-40 minutes away. Sweeney Barn has all the convenience of a city venue, with all the beautiful rustic decor of a farm.
Customizable for Your Special Day
Everything is completely customizable at Sweeney Barn! While the venue provides the atmosphere, couples can choose all their own wedding professionals and equipment. The venue does have a recommended list of caterers, but any other wedding vendors must simply carry insurance to be on property. They’ve had weddings as small as 25 guests and as large as 200, with ceremonies in every location and off-site. Sweeney Barn is a year-round venue, and the staff loves seeing the difference between weddings in all seasons.
Scheduling
Sweeney Barn will schedule weddings no more than two years in advance.
“Those couples looking for Saturdays in the fall usually need to jump on that train earlier than others,” said Andrea Van Wambeke, Sweeney Barn General Manager. “But we’ve also scheduled weddings with only a couple months of planning!”
Come tour Sweeney Barn in person to ensure it’s the best fit for your special day. They encourage couples to get quotes from caterers before making a final decision, since that’s usually the most expensive part of each event. If they love the venue, they can sign a contract, take a deposit payment, then start on their planning journey!
Magical Weddings Happen Here
“One of our favorite weddings was a pandemic giveaway – the Love Gone Viral wedding,” said Van Wambeke. “Ivy and Tom were an absolutely amazing couple, and wedding professionals like Havard Events, The Rosy Posy, KPC and Co., To Your Taste Catering, and so many others were a dream to work alongside.”
The Rosy Posy decorated the venue like it was a beautiful garden in bloom. The photos were stunning, but the smiles on Ivy and Tom’s faces were the best part of the evening, Van Wambeke said.
Why is the Sweeney Barn an affordable option for couples on a budget?
The rates at Sweeney Barn range from $4,950 – $9,950 depending on the day of the week. Planning for a Monday through Wednesday means that you’re looking at half the price of a Saturday wedding! Sweeney Barn loves weekday weddings. They’re always so much fun, and usually book almost every weekday in the fall.
