WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?

Very intimate, yet THE PERFECT DAY to celebrate our love with the people who mean the most. To put it simply…this was so “us.”

THE PROPOSAL:

Brent did an awesome job at surprising me! Spur of the moment, he asked if I wanted to take a last minute trip to Zion with a few of our friends since I finally had a weekend off. We picked one of the shorter hikes, but the elevation would give us a great view. I’m a little scared of heights so I was looking down most of the hike until we reached the top (oblivious to anything that was going on around me). As we were enjoying the view, Brent grabbed my hands and said “come here.” I thought he was playing a joke and pretending to scare me near the ledge, so I wouldn’t budge lol. Finally after asking three times, I made my way to the edge when he got down on one knee to pop the question. I had no idea and was so surprised! After saying “yes”, I heard a ton of clapping and figured it was other random hikers. But little did I know, Brent had asked a bunch of my friends to meet us at Zion and hike up early to surprise me once the proposal was finished! I immediately got emotional and it was the best feeling to be surrounded by people we love!

THE VISION: The original plan was to get married in September 2022. I wanted a boho themed wedding with our color scheme being different hues of terracotta and rust. I loved the idea of my bridesmaids being able to pick their own dresses so that they would be able to use it again and were comfortable with what they were spending.

But the biggest blessing decided to surprise us earlier than expected. I found out I was pregnant in February 2022 and would be due in the fall. I had already bought my wedding dress, but there’s no way I would have been able to fit it come September. Emily was so understanding of the situation and was able to move our wedding date to 05/07/2022 at Red Rock.

I was still in love with our original wedding vision and color palette, so I stuck to it even though it was in the spring – terracotta, rust, pampas, boho! The different color tones of each bridesmaid dress looked so pretty at Red Rock. Emily worked her magic and took care of the rest of the decor as well as flowers. I was obsessed with how everything turned out.

THE PLANNING PROCESS:

Emily and her Elopement Las Vegas team made the planning process so easy. Even though it was an “elopement”, I got to make the same decisions any bride would for a bigger wedding. Never once did I feel limited. I got to choose from a wide option of venues. After my venue and date were selected, Emily sent out a detailed, easy-to-follow questionnaire that allowed to me to pick my wedding style, color theme, cake flavor, flowers, and decor. There are different packages that Elopement Las Vegas offers whether you’re looking for something more simple or something more all-inclusive. I chose the latter so that everything was taken care of and I would have a stress-free wedding day. The photography and videography came out amazing. Hair and makeup were excellent. Emily even helped with providing a list of places to have our reception dinner (Maggiano’s at Downtown Summerlin did a great job hosting us). Everything was so smooth and Emily was always available to answer any questions.

YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES

COURTNEY

-Dress: Madi Lane gown from Couture Bride here in Las Vegas. FYI best service in town – Dawn and Annette are so sweet…definitely check them out. I wanted something unique that fell within my boho theme, but was still elegant. I absolutely loved my dress. It had a lace sequined bodice and train that shimmered in the sunlight. And instead of going with a traditional veil, my dress had a cape that looked amazing in the wind at Red Rock.

-Shoes: Noel Heels with vanilla pearls from Dolce Vita. I did wear actual shoes to Red Rock until we were ready to go because the walk from the parking lot to the venue was a little far.

-Accessories: For hair, I loved the Hollywood side part, but asked for looser wavy curls that I pinned with a jeweled hair piece comb. Both my hairpiece and earrings were from Dareth Colburn Designs on Etsy. As a gift to my bridesmaids, I set up a jewelry party with Link and Lou, which is a permanent jewelry company. We all got “linked” the day before my wedding (bracelets, necklaces, or anklets) and wore our jewelry the next day. It was a fun and creative gift that my friends loved!

BRENT

-Suit: Brent wanted a classy, but laidback look for himself and the groomsmen. His suit was Retro Paris in khaki, purchased at Vericini here in Las Vegas with a white button up, no tie. The groomsmen wore the same pants but with leather suspenders and no jacket.

-Shoes: Steve Madden

MEMORABLE MOMENTS

Brent and I loved that we still had the full wedding experience. Getting to walk down the aisle with my dad was so special. Our most memorable moment was that we still got to have a first dance and pick our song. Also, “pictures speak a thousand words.” The day goes by so fast and I’m so happy we had great photography and videography to capture all the special moments. I would say if there’s one thing you’re going to splurge on, get the photography and videography.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES

I think through all the wedding chaos, it’s important to remember that ultimately this is your wedding day to celebrate you and your partner’s love. Family and friends will have opinions that are fine to consider, but always prioritize what’s important for you both! Follow your heart and do what makes you happy. The day will be over before you know it, so enjoy every moment! Going with Elopement Las Vegas was the best decision ever.
