Jillian and Michael’s Quirky Disco Cowboy Wedding

This wedding at the bride’s family Kansas City home is eclectic,  quirky, and vibrant, with sentimental touches. This well-styled wedding is sure to inspire with unheard of details that are bold, adventurous, and just a touch magical. Industry talent from Kansas City came together to make magic. The bride is wearing a bohemian wedding gown with an added-on burnt orange belt from Lulu’s. Majestic, unique blooms hand designed by the bride herself set the stage for a lively night.

We started the day off with a slow and laid back getting ready process. Jillian was accompanied by her best friend as she got dressed for the day. The details of their day matched both them and their theme to a T. Miniature  disco balls, bandanas, color block cowboy boots, and Jillian’s gold bolo tie pulled it all together. I promise that you’ve never seen cowboy boots as cool as these.

After the crew was in their best disco cowboy attire, we headed to a nearby park to capture Jillian and Michael’s first look. In true cowboy fashion, the two took three steps away and turned around for a shootout these two will never forget. These two surrounded themselves with their closest friends for their untraditional bridal party (two furry best friends included, of course).

Once it was time to tie the knot, guests made their way down to a handmade arbor by the bride’s father. Two colorful cactus trees finished with a hanging disco ball welcome guests and set the scene. These two lovebirds shared — and possibly created the first ever — a sandwich ceremony to symbolize their union. Each layer of the sandwich represented a part of their relationship that they enjoy.

It was time for the party and there was no time wasted. Guests enjoyed watercolor butt portraits from artist Taylor Fourt, old school video games, and Mexican catering from Antojos El Korita during the reception. Toasts, dances, and delicious cookies from Fleur and Honey made the night perfect. The newly weds ended their night with some portraits by the pool filled with LED balloons.

No detail was left out for this wedding. From guest experience to sentimental touches for the couple and close family, everything was thoughtfully planned. This feature is the perfect fit for a couple seeking unique, untraditional inspiration for their wedding day.
