Pure joy… I love to see it, and I love to capture it! Overall, I capture the happy times in life, but there is something extra amazing about proposals that I absolutely love. It’s probably the fact that I love to be a part of any surprise. I love the planning, the sneaking around, and how it all comes together for one very amazing moment!
Daniel’s proposal to Ashleigh at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC was one of those incredible moments of surprise, and it filled my heart with joy! From the moment Daniel led Ashleigh onto the upper esplanade, to the long moments he stood and shared his sweet words with her (he took his time speaking what I can only imagine were the sweetest words on the planet to Ashleigh before he proposed), to when he dropped down on one knee and placed a ring on her finger, it was all magical! Ashleigh was of course instantly excited and said “Yes!” It was lovely to witness and photograph!
As we walked around the estate capturing engagement photos of Ashleigh and Daniel, I caught Ashleigh looking at her new engagement ring several times. She was beyond excited to be engaged, and I was excited for her! During our set of photos near the Christmas trees on Biltmore Estate’s front lawn, I suggested that we take some photos of the ring by itself, set in a Christmas tree. Ashleigh loved the idea, and I loved how the tree lights created such beautiful bokeh in the background!
From there, we finished up their engagement photos on the south terrace with gorgeous mountain views. Since it was during the week and at dusk, the south terrace was fairly quiet and an absolutely beautiful spot for their final kisses and laughter in front of my camera!
It was incredible to witness Ashleigh and Daniel’s proposal, and such an honor to capture it!
