More Than Pretty Pictures

By Dawn Klavon

Adventure-based wedding and elopement photographer Rob Jinks doesn’t just want to take pretty pictures.

“We will go so much deeper than that — giving you images that actually feel and look like real life,” Rob said. “We help you look your best without any harsh posing and without turning your wedding day into a production.”

Rob’s photography business specializes in serving couples who love the outdoors and having an adventure. Photos might be on top of a mountain, or in the heart of a city. No matter where couples choose to get married, Rob wants them to experience their day to the fullest, with no awkward posing, just authentic moments.

To get on Rob’s schedule, he advises booking an average of six to twelve months out, but encourages couples to reach out, no matter where they are in the planning process. Interested couples will start by filling out the contact form on the website, then Rob will schedule a short 15-minute call, followed by an in-depth video consultation. Remember, Rob schedules a limited number of bookings each year so he can dedicate his time and energy to getting to know the couples he will photograph, serving each to the fullest. His is not a high-volume studio — it’s about quality, not quantity.

“The best wedding to us is one where the couple feels free to embrace each moment to the fullest,” he said. “One wedding like that began at a bed and breakfast in the Shenandoah, just outside of Sperryville, Virginia, at the Inn at Mount Vernon Farm. I joined Matt and Alyx to document their elopement story, starting with a first look, then portraits with their closest family and friends. Everyone caravanned up to a stunning, private overlook I helped them discover on top of Skyline Drive. It was there that they committed their lives together, shed tears of joy, and looked forward to their future together. From there, we went on a hike to Mary’s Rock for a full 360-degree view at sunset, and back to the bed and breakfast to close out with night images under the stars.”
