Erica and Jason’s Classic Wedding at Meson Sabika

This wedding day was a special one. When Erica and Jason reached out to me to photograph their wedding day, I absolutely knew that I had to be their photographer.

Erica was my student the first year that I was a teacher (2012). Her and Jason were both friends with my brother, who is also their age and attended the same school where I taught. It was a wonderful reuniting of former students all grown up throughout their wedding day.

We took incredible photos at North Ave beach the summer before their wedding, and I knew that their wedding day was going to be stunning!

Erica and her bridesmaids got ready at her childhood home in Naperville, Illinois. Jason and his groomsmen got ready a couple town over in Winfield, Illinois.

Their ceremony took place at the historic St. Peter and Paul Church in downtown Naperville. Instead of a first look, they shared an incredible, private vow exchange before their ceremony. After their ceremony, there was an awesome bubble exit at the iconic front steps of the church. No matter what the plans are for your wedding day, I always recommended to couples to have some sort of an exit photos for their wedding. Whether it’s just the wedding party or it’s everyone that attended the ceremony, it’s a fantastic way to photograph those incredible ‘Just Married’ feelings.

Once we arrived at Meson Sabika in Naperville for their reception, we had the grounds to ourselves. Erica and Jason rented a vintage Rolls Royce to transport them to and from the ceremony, and it was an incredible “prop” in their photos.

I can’t say enough about their reception. It had perfect unique touches about them, a message recording station for their guests to say something instead of the traditional guestbook, and a fun game to take photos with every table to knock out the often dreaded table photos (or at least I dread those).

Their father of the bride, best man and maid of honor speeches were some of the most heartfelt speeches I’ve heard at a wedding.

The night ended with an incredible dance floor, featuring a quick dancing shoe change.
