Ali and Nathan’s Misty Mountain Ranch Wedding

Ali and Nate each began their day in separate mountain Airbnbs with their closest friends and family members. It was a surprisingly misty and cool fall day for September but neither of them were discouraged by the weather.

I had a lot of fun photographing Ali’s special and sentimental details while two of her bridesmaids helped to find a spot to photograph the dress.

Pretty soon it was time to head to the venue for the first look. I got there ahead of time and set Nate up with my 2nd photographer, Matt. There was a nervous and excited energy between them as Nate turned to see Ali for the first time on their wedding day. They embraced and had a quiet moment together and as their parents peeked around the corner in the background, Ali gently wiped a tear from Nate’s face.

After a short portrait session featuring a bottle of champagne and the mountains of Staunton State park (where they got engaged), it was time for the ceremony to begin.

The ceremony space sat at the foot of the Lions Head mountain and Ali and Nate said their vows to a teary audience of friends and family.

The reception details were a joy to explore. Filled with fall colors, fern leaves, and even some little rubber ducks which held a special meaning to them. All of this inside a stunning ranch setting with lofted wooden ceilings. I couldn’t have asked for a more photogenic wedding reception.
