Mariana and Michael’s Magical Destination Wedding

Submitted by Mariana London

Tell us your story. Include how you met, your engagement, etc.

We have met through a group of student friends. We got engaged after learning we were expecting.

What was your theme? What inspired you to pick that theme?

Family! Going back home to Brazil to celebrate our big day. We are from Florida, surrounded by water. We wanted something different, such as mountains.

Describe the dress you chose and the moment you knew it was the one.

Been working on designing my dress based on the location. Mountains so I thought of wind flowing through the jacket sleeves of the dress.

What is your Favorite Detail about the wedding?

The venue! The backdrop was incredible, truly a magical place. This resort caters to brides where they close the resort for your wedding festivities like you own it.

Describe the first dance.

Fun, sexy and exciting. We worked on our choreography for three months. I had a second dress designed for the dance. Song played by our band live: Save the Last Dance, Michael Bublé.

What local vendors did you use?

All Brazil based on referral. Venue: Vila Relicário Photgrapher: Diego Filipe Catering: Papo de Anjo Cake: Silvana Cakes Florist/decor: Fabio Barros

Any advice for other brides?

Too many to list. Destination weddings are something else. It’s important to trust who’s putting it together for you.
