Sarah and Chris’s Whimsical Summer Wedding at Private Manor House

Venue & Details – The couple chose The Manor House at Prophecy Creek the moment they stepped foot on the grounds of the venue. The gorgeous landscapes and manor were the perfect vibe for the fairytale wedding of their dreams! The pastel color palette was the perfect theme to compliment the stunning and whimsical vibe of the venue, as well as the spring season. The bride and groom love their home in Philly and just had to incorporate little details into their special day. Sitting on top of their wedding cake was their very own LOVE statue, just like the one displayed across from City Hall in Live Park, Philadelphia, which is the exact location that the groom proposed to his bride. And, of course, there’s no Philly without their Birds! The groom threw a Philadelphia Eagles football with the bride’s garter wrapped around the laces to all the single men, and the Eagles fight song was chanted to end the night!

How We Met – The couple have quite an interesting story, which they love. Having gone to the same middle and high school, Chris and Sarah knew of each other; however, they both do not recall ever saying a word to one another throughout their time at Conestoga Valley. Chris played football and lacrosse; Sarah was involved in theatre, art, and dance. The couple both enjoyed reminiscing on shared memories, especially classes they remembered that they had together. Sarah also recalls thinking Chris was cute with his diamond stud earrings, while Chris remembers a pair of back-pocketless jeans that Sarah used to wear. Needless to say, the two have shared quite a few laughs from these conversations over the years.

On the eve of the 2015 new year, Chris and Sarah both made their way in separate groups to the Brickyard Restaurant and Sports Bar about a couple hours before the ball dropped. When Sarah left her group to break it down on the dance floor, she ran into Chris. Both were surprised to see one another and equally shocked that the other was seemingly interested. Regardless, they danced the night away and brought in the 2015 new year together. The rest is history

The Proposal – In order to fulfill their holiday tradition, Sarah and Chris attended the Christmas Village celebration in Center City Philadelphia on December 23, 2021. They walked around the individual shops, admiring each vendor’s product. Then, in hopes to capture a photo each season for a future “Seasons of Love” post at the LOVE statue, Chris led Sarah to Dilworth Park to take a picture. Sarah annoyingly pulled Chris back up to pose for the photo when she thought he was walking away too early. In reality, he was attempting to kneel. Chris tried again, going down on one knee in front of the Christmas Village crowd and asked Sarah if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Of course, she said “yes.”
