Brittany and Justin’s Intimate and Ethereal Halloween Wedding

When Brittany and Justin first reached out about hiring me to photograph their wedding and mentioned a Halloween date, I thought they were kidding. But alas, it was all real and I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough. After getting to know the two of them through their romantic engagement session in San Diego, I knew that their wedding would not only be super cool, but also intentional and special. Almost a year of planning and coordinating later, Justin and Brittany got ready on Halloween afternoon for their first look up on a parking deck in downtown San Diego. The two of them looked stunning in their first outfits for the day and were super excited to see each other dressed up.

After some finishing touch and detail photos, we met up at the parking deck where Brittany wowed Justin in her gorgeous, princess-like dress. The two laughed, danced, and posed for lots of fun photos before heading back to their hotel’s rooftop bar for their ceremony with family and friends. When we arrived, Brittany and Justin made their way down the aisle and all of their guests looked awesome all dressed up for the occasion in their own costumes. Brittany’s sister officiated their ceremony and after exchanging personal vows, they celebrated with a cocktail and some family photos before heading upstairs to change into their costume for the evening. Justin added some cool chain mail to his suit to finish off his dragon costume and Brittany changed into an entirely new dress and transformed into a fairy, fitting for the fairytale like day!

Once they headed back downstairs, they enjoyed a first dance to “You Are in Love” by Taylor Swift and then did a couple family dances as their guests watched on. Following the dances, everyone sat down to eat while family and friends toasted the newlyweds. Lots of delicious food later, Brittany and Justin took in the gorgeous sunset a little while longer before cutting their cake as a way to finish off their evening. It was a gorgeous, fun, unique wedding day for a super special couple!
