Diane and Wayne’s Romantic Winter Elopement

Diane and Wayne eloped at the historic Omni Homestead and Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia over the week of Christmas. They said they simply didn’t want their church, friends, and family making a big fuss over them. They knew everyone would want to throw them a big wedding and celebrate with them, but they wanted to enjoy the moments together and celebrate later. We toured the grounds of the homestead together for pre-wedding portraits, all decked out for Christmas. There must have been dozens of Christmas trees! And then the two sweethearts shared a tearful, heartfelt vow exchange at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, with just the minister and photographer as witnesses. Afterwards, they took a carriage ride around the property and waves at onlookers to celebrate their wedding day! As we rode back from the church to the homestead, Wayne wiped a tear from Diane’s cheek and told her “Don’t you cry, there’s already enough women crying over me today.” And we all laughed! This wedding was the sweetest way to end the year.
