Christy and Talis were both active in their local swing dancing scene when they met four years ago. After several shared dances, the two became a couple on and off the dance floor. After a mere six weeks of dating, Talis decided to take Christy bike riding on a scenic route overlooking the Palouse. As the sun began to set over the bucolic landscape, he surprised her by popping the question. The two were so excited to be engaged that they nearly forgot about the picnic they’d packed.
Christy and Talis’ Idaho wedding was inspired by all things spring — especially spring mornings spent on the farm where Christy grew up. They held their wedding in Moscow, Idaho, at the very beginning of spring. For the ceremony, Christy arrived on horseback in a romantic lace gown with an embroidered floral veil. The veil inspired a vibrant bridesmaid color scheme, and the bridal party looked like wildflowers dancing in the Idaho breeze during their photos. Talis wore a crisp white suit with a bright orange boutonniere to complement the sunflowers, roses, gerbera daisies, and baby’s breath of Christy’s bouquet. After the ceremony, the newlyweds hopped on the horse together and rode to their reception, which featured a meal of sourdough bread, butter boards, salad, and chicken — all Christy’s own recipes!
