Love stories often begin in the most unexpected places. Seth and Alex’s journey to their incredible wedding day is no exception. They met through an online dating website, and little did they know that their connection would lead to an unforgettable wedding at the Rookery. In January 2024, they will celebrate ten wonderful years together. This is certainly a testament to the strength and natural ease of their relationship.

The moment Seth and Alex knew they were meant to be when their bond grew effortlessly, evolving and strengthening over time. It was as if destiny had brought them together. They both felt that undeniable certainty that they had found their soulmate.

An Epic Proposal

Alex’s proposal to Seth was nothing short of magical. After a picturesque hike along the Basque coast at Gaztelugatxe, Alex got down on one knee and popped the question. This location held a special place in their hearts, as it was where Alex had studied abroad during college and had trekked many years before. Moreover, Seth, a devoted Game of Thrones fan, couldn’t help but be thrilled, as “Dragonstone” scenes from the series were filmed at this very spot. It was a proposal that combined their love for each other with a touch of fantasy and adventure.

The Big Day

Their wedding day was a rollercoaster of emotions—excitement, stress, and surreal moments all rolled into one. Seth and Alex decided to see each other before the ceremony, a choice they both cherished. This allowed for more intimate moments and plenty of photo opportunities that captured the genuine love they shared.

Their biggest worry was whether everything would fall into place as planned, especially when it came to timing. Thankfully, their special day unfolded flawlessly, leaving them both with nothing but wonderful memories to cherish.

The Rookery Building

The choice of The Rookery Building in Chicago as their wedding venue was nothing short of brilliant. Designed by the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, this venue is an architectural treasure trove. One of its standout features is the epic spiral staircase, which served as a spectacular backdrop for their ceremony.

Seth and Alex transformed the space with an abundance of beautiful flowers and greenery, adding a touch of nature’s elegance to the industrial setting. The classic design and elegant architecture of The Rookery Building were significant inspirations for their wedding look and feel. They brought in fall florals and greenery to harmonize with the season, and clean ivory table linens and dinnerware provided the perfect canvas for their table arrangements.

Words of Wisdom

Seth and Alex have some sage advice for couples planning their weddings. First and foremost, they recommend breaking up the planning process into stages to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Do thorough research on vendors and industry standards, but don’t forget to consider how you want your wedding to feel. Think about the energy and vibe you want to create for your guests as they celebrate with you on your special day.

When it comes to preparing for your wedding, pay attention to the time of year and weather. These factors can greatly influence your choice of hairstyles and clothing.

As for photography-related advice, Seth and Alex encourage couples to relax, be as natural as possible, and trust their photographers. These professionals are experts in their craft and will capture your love in the most incredible way possible.

Seth and Alex’s wedding celebration at The Rookery Building in Chicago was a perfect reflection of their love story—effortless, elegant, and full of magic. Their journey began online, but it’s safe to say that their love story has now become a timeless tale of devotion and adventure. Congratulations to the happy couple, and may their love continue to grow for many more decades to come.
