Courtney and Craig’s Colorful Spring Wedding at Ellis Preserve

The Wedding:

It was the hottest day of the year so far – 95 degrees!! The heat was definitely the only “bump” in the road that day, because it was a beautiful sunny day surrounded by family and friends.

The day was filled with so many personal touches. Courtney’s “something old” was her grandmother’s engagement ring, her “something new” were their wedding bands, “something borrowed” was her sisters veil and “something blue” was an autism awareness ribbon on her bouquet for her nephew. At the reception Courtney surprised one of her closest friends with a donation to the ALS Association in lieu of favors to honor her father who was recently diagnosed in 2022. Throughout the day Creeper, Courtney & Craigs cat, was an honorable mention with the signature drinks being named after him – the “Espresso Creeptini” for her and Creeper’s Gin & Tonic for his! Creeper even made it on the cake for their topper!

Courtney & Craig have known each other elementary school and have always had mutual friends but never actually hung out until after college in 2014. They were out at a bar one night with friends and she thought he was so cute that by the end of the night Courtney walked right up to him and asked if he wanted to make out….and the rest is history!! Courtney is very type A. She like things planned, she needs to be on time or arrive early for everything, she likes schedules. But she’s also such a fun, energetic, talk to anyone kind of person. She loves making people laugh and being silly. Craig is the complete opposite total Type B laid back and chill. He’s completely content laying on the couch and relaxing all day. But he also loves to be out and having fun. That’s why they work- they are the perfect balance for each other. Courtney is obsessed with numbers and her cat while Craig is obsessed with lawn care.

The Proposal: (worded by the couple)

9/4/21 – We were down wildwood for Labor Day weekend. We went to go meet up with his sister at the sea wall and when we get there, we don’t see them anywhere. So I sit down on the bench. Craig kneels down beside me and has a seashell in his hand. He says “isn’t this a great seashell” and I’m like yeah? haha.. I’m like should I pick it up. And I see the ring and I’m like OMG. And he says “you know I want to spend the rest of my life with you and creeper” (our cat lol), will you marry me babe. And I said yessssss!!!!”
