When Katherine and Drake began dating more seriously, she told him not to propose until she had finished her first year of graduate school. Less than one week after her finals were completed, the couple was on a flight to the Grand Canyon. Having joked about going together since their first date, Drake knew that was the perfect location to propose. On the second day of the trip, the couple enjoyed a hike to a quiet overlook. Drake proposed with a photo album he had created with all of their memories during their time together. After a few phone calls to their family and friends, the couple enjoyed the evening by setting up a hammock overlooking the canyon.

Katherine knew she wanted her Texas wedding day to focus on two key elements — a grand Catholic mass and an even more extravagant fairytale garden reception. For their Catholic mass, Katherine wore a stunning Mira Zwillinger ballgown paired with a matching caplet, both detailed in layered three-dimensional floral lace. Her incredible cathedral-length veil complimented her look with extraordinary detail along the length of the tulle. Dinner and dancing moved to the Fort Worth Club of Texas for an exceptional ballroom-turned-fairytale garden. Floral installations were created for guests to walk beneath as they entered the ballroom for the reception, where greenery trailed from the archways along with lavender and white flowers. Candlelit hallways led to rooms with luxe lounge spaces. Inspired by outdoor gardens, the seating chart was arranged from a wall of flowers. Similarly, planters and fountains within the ballroom were also overflowing with arrangements. The true magic of their fairytale wedding came to life in the reception hall. Florals rested high and low atop the tables, with clear garden-inspired chairs, gold-rimmed crystal glassware and plates, and lavishly embroidered floral tablecloths. The final moment of flowers hung boldly above the custom-printed dancefloor, where an oversized chandelier was taken over by blooms. The couple shared in an adorable cake cutting as the five-tiered white wedding cake sat atop its own table, engulfed in the evening’s blooms.
