Conner and Anna had been together for eight years, a journey that began back in their high school days in Texas. Anna asked Conner to her prom on April 6th 2016. Their connection was immediate, but the relationship wasn’t always easy. A few months after they started dating, they started long distance when Anna left for college. Throughout college, they visited each other on weekends and went home to their families on holidays!

After graduation, Anna had to move to New York City for a job opportunity, while Conner stayed in Texas. They endured a long-distance relationship, making it work through late-night calls, surprise visits, and countless love letters. Conner and Anna eventually moved to San Diego together and long distance was over!

On the evening of their eighth anniversary of Anna asking Conner to prom, Conner took Anna to Sunset Cliffs for a picnic. The sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm glow across the ocean. Conner’s heart raced as he reached into his pocket, feeling the small velvet box he’d been carrying for weeks.

“Anna,” he said, his voice steady but full of emotion. “These past eight years have been incredible. We’ve been through so much together—long-distance, moves across the country, new jobs, new challenges. But through it all, you’ve been my rock. I can’t imagine my life without you.”

Anna’s eyes were glistening, a mix of joy and anticipation. Conner took a deep breath, then got down on one knee.

“Will you marry me?” he asked, opening the box to reveal Anna’s dream ring – a custom marquise diamond on a gold band. She said yes, of course! They opened a bottle of champagne, face-timed their loved ones, and watched the sunset before heading to a surprise engagement dinner!
