Wedding Venue Offering New Summer Cooking Classes

Newlyweds and soon-to-be-newlyweds, fire up your schedule for a fun getaway to Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast Inn for their fun summer cooking class weekends.

Briar Patch has been offering winter cooking class weekends for a number of years. This year they have their first-ever summer cooking class weekends that are focused on grilling!

The dates for the classes are July 19 to 21 and Aug. 9 to 11, 2024.

Learning Fun

Chef Doron Haendel will explain to participants of the grilling weekends how to grill, smoke and reheat food on a grill.

The weekend instructors are Chef Doron Haendel and Chef Amanda Baden.

Ellen Goldberg, co-owner of Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast Inn, said Haendel is her husband’s brother, and he is not a stranger to Briar Patch. He cooks breakfast at the establishment, as well as instructs the cooking classes.

She said Baden is not a stranger to the bed and breakfast either – she is a former manager at the establishment that ventured on to start her own baking business.

Doron will explain to participants how to grill, smoke and reheat food on a grill.

Baden, the ultimate baker, will explain how to make desserts (not on the grill) that dazzle the taste buds.

“Attendees get to learn something while having fun,” Goldberg said. “Foodies will enjoy this too.”

View the website to learn more about the rates. For the cooking weekends, participants will receive a two-night stay with full hot breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings at the bed and breakfast. There’s also a traditional BBQ dinner by the pool with wine and beer on Friday night.

Saturday night, the cooking class is mostly demonstration with a four-course meal and wine and beer.

Payment is due upon reservation. No refunds.
