Blake and Elaina’s love story began unexpectedly in 2018 with a simple scooter on a college campus. Blake, a basketball player with tired legs, often found himself in need of quick transportation, and Elaina, a prepared and organized student, had just the solution. Her scooter became the vehicle for their budding friendship as Blake frequently borrowed it, initially out of necessity and soon enough, as an excuse to spend time with her. However, as life would have it, their connection was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic. For over a year, their lives took different paths, with Elaina diving into her studies and Blake focusing on other pursuits.
It wasn’t until the end of their junior year, when in-person meetings resumed, that they reconnected. Their bond was rekindled at Athletes in Action meetings, where they discovered a shared passion for learning and helping one another. What started as a platonic study session soon evolved into something deeper, leading to their first date in July 2021 at Salem Lake, a spot that would later become the setting for Blake’s heartfelt proposal. Their journey to marriage was one filled with joy, challenges, and a deep-rooted faith that guided them every step of the way.
Their wedding day was a true reflection of their personalities and their love story, brought to life with intentional details that made the day uniquely theirs. Elaina, with her love for florals, envisioned a day where flowers would surround them in every corner—from the aisle lined with blooms to the chandeliers and beams adorned with cascading arrangements. This floral dream was meticulously realized, creating a romantic and enchanting atmosphere.
Knowing their desire for an intimate Christian ceremony, we arranged a surprise a cappella choir performance of their favorite hymn, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” which left their guests in awe and added a deeply personal touch to the ceremony. Elaina’s love for pearls was also woven throughout the design, subtly incorporated into various elements that added a touch of timeless elegance.
