Love and light filled every corner of The Highland Manor as Katie and Ryan celebrated their beautiful spring wedding beneath the sweeping oak trees of this historic estate in Apopka, Florida. The venue, a stately turn-of-the-century Victorian mansion surrounded by grand oaks, offered timeless Southern charm and the perfect setting for their elegant blue-and-white celebration inspired by Chinoiserie vases and fine chinaware.
The day began at the Hilton Garden Inn, conveniently located right next door to the venue — a dream setup for couples and their guests. Katie and her bridal party got ready there, while I met Ryan and his groomsmen for portraits at The Highland Manor. The proximity made the day seamless and relaxed, one of the many reasons this venue is so ideal for weddings.
We then transitioned to the manor’s stunning bridal suite for Katie’s getting-ready photos as she slipped into her modern trumpet gown, complete with a gorgeous oversized bow at the back — a statement piece that felt equal parts classic and contemporary. The bridesmaids, dressed in dusty blue, complemented the day’s palette of blue, white, and cream beautifully, while Ryan and the groomsmen looked sharp in black and white tuxedos.
Before the ceremony, Katie and Ryan shared a heartfelt first touch and exchanged private vows — a quiet, emotional moment that set the tone for the day. The ceremony took place beneath Highland Manor’s iconic century-old oak tree, where golden sunlight filtered through the branches as the couple said “I do.”
After the ceremony, we captured family portraits and then took the newlyweds around the property for romantic photos while guests enjoyed cocktail hour on inside. As the sun dipped lower, everyone gathered in the ballroom for a joyful reception filled with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts celebrating Katie and Ryan’s love story.
From the elegant chinoiserie-inspired décor to the joyful energy of the day, every detail reflected the couple’s timeless style and genuine connection. Photographing their wedding at The Highland Manor — a venue that blends old-world charm with modern convenience — was truly an honor.
