Styled Shoot Elopement on the Frozen Ice Stacks at Utah Lake

I first photographed this couple’s emotional first look in Salt Lake City, Utah, before they flew off to Iceland for their epic elopement. But when I saw the once-a-year phenomenon at Utah Lake—where shifting ice breaks apart and forms breathtaking stacks along the shore—I knew I had to capture something truly unique. The ice only lasts for a few days, making it nearly impossible to plan real elopements around it. So, I thought of this adventurous couple and reached out, asking if they’d be willing to slip back into their bridal attire for one more unforgettable session. Without hesitation, they said yes, and we met the very next day to capture their love against this rare and fleeting backdrop. The ice melted away soon after, but these photos will preserve the magic forever.
