A Celebration of Love, Culture, and Community at The Empanada Lady: A Wedding Styled Shoot

The Empanada Lady, an Afro-Latina and woman-owned restaurant in Baltimore, has earned its place as a local favorite with its traditional Puerto Rican empanadas, flavorful sides, and signature “Nada Cocktail.” Founded by Elisa Milan, the restaurant goes beyond food, providing a space that celebrates love, culture, and community.

To highlight The Empanada Lady’s new catering options for large events, we hosted a vibrant wedding styled shoot that showcased the restaurant’s warm ambiance and beloved cuisine. We collaborated with an all-Black team of Baltimore wedding vendors to bring this unique vision to life.

Our groom wore a custom emerald suit by Shaw’s Covenant, and our bride stunned in a gown from Elite Secrets Bridal, playfully accessorized with bodega finds that added an unexpected twist. The couple shared Nada Cocktails at the bar and enjoyed a cozy moment with empanadas in the restaurant’s rich, cultural atmosphere, complete with a mural of the Puerto Rican flag and colorful umbrellas on the ceiling.

Ending the shoot at the front bodega, the couple picked up snacks to-go, adding a charming final touch. The day beautifully captured the spirit of The Empanada Lady—a place where love, culture, and community come together, making it an ideal setting for celebrating life’s most important moments.
