Cakes by Happy Eatery Serves Up Support for the 2026 Brides & Weddings Cake-Off

When some of the area’s talented bakers gather at Sweeney Barn on September 9 for the 2026 Brides & Weddings Cake-Off, one familiar bakery will be there in a different role.

Rather than competing, Cakes by Happy Eatery is helping make the competition possible as a Cake-Off sponsor, with Victoria Wu serving as one of the judges and the Cakes by Happy Eatery team creating lunch for the wedding professionals attending the event.

It is a role that makes sense for a business that understands both the skill required to create beautiful desserts and the importance of supporting other professionals in the wedding industry.

Supporting the Bakers Behind the Cakes

The Cake-Off gives participating bakers an unusual opportunity. They aren’t exhibiting alongside dozens of other types of wedding businesses. For this event, the bakers are the stars. Wedding professionals will have the opportunity to meet the participating bakers, see their work, taste their creations, and build relationships that can lead to future referrals.

For Cakes by Happy Eatery, sponsoring the event provides an opportunity to help give those businesses that spotlight. That is particularly meaningful as the Cake-Off welcomes businesses at different stages of growth, including smaller and cottage-based bakers working to establish their reputations in the wedding industry.

“There are so many talented bakers out there, and sometimes they just need an opportunity for people to see what they can do,” said Victoria Wu of Cakes by Happy Eatery. “We’ve been doing this a long time, so for me, the Cake-Off is a chance to support other bakers, meet new people in the industry, and give back a little. I don’t need to be the one competing. I’m happy to cheer them on, judge some great cakes, and feed everybody.” Wu brings her own years of experience to the judges’ table, where she’ll evaluate this year’s competitors’ work while also celebrating the creativity and talent within the local baking community.

From Cakes to a Ramen Bar

Of course, Cakes by Happy Eatery isn’t coming to the Cake-Off empty-handed. While the competing bakers take care of dessert, Cakes by Happy Eatery is taking care of lunch. And this isn’t going to be the standard networking-event lunch.

The team is creating an interactive ramen bar, where guests can build their own bowls. The lunch will also include shrimp chip appetizers, lemonade, and hot tea. If you’ve seen Cakes by Happy Eatery’s ramen-bar presentations before, you know the food is only part of the experience. Tiered displays, florals, individually presented ingredients, and a colorful toppings station turn lunch into something guests will want to photograph before they eat it.

It is also a good reminder that Cakes by Happy Eatery does much more than cake.

A Different Kind of Wedding Industry Lunch

Women’s Wedding Network events have always been about creating opportunities for wedding professionals to get to know one another without the pressure of a traditional sales environment. The Cake-Off takes that idea and makes it even sweeter.

Guests will have lunch, network with fellow wedding professionals, meet this year’s competing bakers, taste their entries, participate in prize drawings, and help select one of the day’s winners by voting for Attendees’ Choice.

Industry judges, including Wu, will select winners in additional categories. And while the competition is fun, there is a larger purpose behind the afternoon. A percentage of event proceeds will benefit Give Back Prince William in support of the Influential Women Award scholarships.
